Critiques
To be honest, I would've left some more space open down below. I think having the tree a little more centered, just below the horizon, would've made the artwork stronger.
A wise choice to use IR/Black and white. The rocks are hard and surround the softness of the tree, which makes it look vulnerable.
Overall a very nice image. It's almost a lust for the eye to look at this artwork. Go on like this! Have people enjoy your photographs!
The blackened sky gives a feeling completely contrast to the soft feeling of the tree - as do the rocks - causing an almost juxtaposition, which adds to the simple - yet overwhelming beauty - of this image.
I'll go to assume that this was a slightly long exposure, do to the contrast and the slightly blurred "puffs" on the tree... definitely a good effect, even if not intended.
As for the lighting, impeccable, especially the subtle light around the trunk/base of the tree.
I'm running out of words to use for this, so I'll sum up.
Great light, great texture/feeling, generally a great image.
I am very impressed.
